We are so happy to have Carla joining our team at Abolishion. She will be involved in projects and also with administration. Welcome to the team Carla! We took a few moments to ask Carla a few questions about why she chose Abolishion to fight human trafficking.

How did you come to hear about human trafficking?

I grew up helping girls around me, dreaming about a day when I will create a place where the girls that need help can be helped. I went to the law school in order to learn more and be able to help in a more effective way. Studying Criminal Law in the Law School of the West University of Timisoara, I learned that what you see on the street is not always the reality. That behind prostitution is human trafficking, and my dream developed in helping those girls too. 

What was your reaction when you heard?

I was shocked to see in how many ways people hurt other people.

What is your role in Abolishion?

I wil be involved in projects and working in administration.

Why did you choose to work for Abolishion?

I was impressed about the "breaking the system” strategy Abolishion has, and about the work they actually do in fighting against human trafficking. Also because they have a shelter were the girls can get real help.  

What do you think is the best thing someone can do to fight trafficking?

To pay attention on what is going on around you and to care enough to react, report, step in, be involved when is needed.

What do you think a world without trafficking would look like?

A world without trafficking is a normal beautiful world, in which we treat each other with love, care, respect!
